Michael Garcia

Michael Garcia is the embedded Lab Safety and Operations Manager for the Department of Chemistry (CHEM). Michael is available to assist CHEM faculty, staff, and students with all safety and compliance matters, including potential or immediate safety issues, incident response, laboratory registration and decommissioning, BioRAFT and ChemTracker assistance, chemical inventory management / reporting, and hazardous waste disposal.  He also works with Facilities Management and Environmental Health & Safety to address inspection findings and fume hood issues, and he is responsible for managing the CHEM employee safety programs and training records. Michael serves as the Staff Representative for the Chemistry Student Safety Committee, or CSSC. Although his primary area of responsibility is Chemistry, Michael is available to assist other departments within ArtSci upon request.
