Biography

Dr. Karen Thum is a plant biologist in the Office of Research Development. She holds a BS in Biology from Drexel University and a PhD in Molecular and Environmental Plant Sciences from TAMU. She has carried out research at New York University as a NIH-NRSA postdoctoral fellow. Prior to her role in research development, she was involved in developing biologicals and biostimulants in the private sector. Dr. Thum has been awarded grants from the NIH and been involved in grant writing and development in her previous appointments at NYU and Indiana University.
