Research Interests

David Hudson is a native of the United Kingdom who has lived and thrived in Texas since 1991. Earning his PhD from Texas A&M University in 1998, his scholarship focuses on Britain and Ireland, and the complex and fraught relationship between these near neighbors over the last several hundred years. His current projects involve re-examining traditional narratives about English and Irish history, and he relishes challenging commonplace assumptions about both nations, their peoples, and their destinies.  Dr. Hudson is a past President of the Western Conference on British Studies.
