Texas A&M Graduate Students Travel the World to Study History

In the summer of 2024, History graduate students dispersed to many locations in North America and Europe.

Some conducted research and interdisciplinary field work. Tristan Krause worked on a MIA recovery excavation in Sicily with a partner program of the U.S. Department of Defense POW/MIAA Accounting Agency. Jillian Glantz participated in gravestone restoration in Atlanta, GA. Margaret Gregory researched at the Kew National Archives of the United Kingdom, where she found exciting evidence for a "propaganda war" between the unrecognized Rhodesian government and Parliament. Tanner Ogle presented at a conference in Florence, Italy, and visited archives across England and Scotland. Brandon Willadsen received a research grant from the Truman Library Institute and dug into the collections at the Truman and Eisenhower presidential libraries.

Others enhanced their language and professional skills. Chris Bishop traveled to Freiburg, Germany to study at the Goethe Institut thanks to the department’s David Chapman Fellowship. Mark Mallory conducted archival research and studied Spanish in Mexico City.
