Biography

Andrew M. Garcia’s research focuses on child abuse and maltreatment, with specific emphasis on the longitudinal effects of childhood emotional abuse. He has additional interests in intimate partner violence (IPV), media framing of domestic violence, and social psychological theories of identity. He previously earned a JD from the University of Kansas School of Law, an MS in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University, and a BA in Political Science from Baylor University.
