Omar Hakim

Omar Hakim serves as a full professor of practice at Texas A&M University, teaching entrepreneurship and technology commercialization to the next generation of Aggie entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers. Omar is a co-founder, past executive director, and past Aggie Angel Network board member (a group of accredited ""business angel"" investors). Omar is also a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed by the State of Texas in both industrial & systems engineering and software engineering.

Omar's recent past professional experiences include VP of Client Strategy at a leading US law firm, a career as a senior executive at Accenture, angel investing, co-founding several startups, and managing an award-winning startup incubator. Omar is an inventor with over 100 issued and pending US and international patents in the domains of material science, financial business methods (FinTech), Internet of Things (IoT) distributed sensors, machine learning algorithms, GPS navigation systems, online collaboration software for legal contracts, data networking for educational systems, and construction technologies.

Omar's last position at Accenture was Asia Regional Director of Network Consulting. He had P&L responsibilities for Accenture client engagements across 15 Asian countries. Omar also served as an Accenture Technology Ventures (ATV) due diligence team member, which directed investments from Accenture's internally managed USD 1 billion VC fund. Omar also managed the patent portfolio of Accenture's Communications & High Tech global market unit.

Omar has worked for clients that include the United States Air Force, Revlon, Tenneco, Singapore Telecom, Korea Telecom, Applied Materials (CFO's office), the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office (MAMPU), the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) in Belgium, the IC2 Institute, and NASA. He has served as an advisor to over one hundred startup companies.
