Biography

Dr. Joanna Goodey-Pellois is an Instructional Professor in the Department of Chemistry and the Associate Dean for Faculty Success in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University. In her role within the College of Arts and Sciences, she focuses on faculty development and evaluation, chairing both the APT Faculty Affairs and APT Dean's Advisory Committees.

Within the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Goodey-Pellois has served as the Director of the First Year Program in Chemistry and the Associate Graduate Advisor. Since joining Texas A&M in 2006, she has taught general chemistry to over 12,000 freshmen. Her teaching excellence has been recognized with multiple awards, including the AFS Distinguished Achievement Award for Teaching, the Provost APT Faculty Teaching Excellence Award, and the University Professorship for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence.

Dr. Goodey-Pellois has collaborated with the Center for Teaching Excellence and Faculty Affairs to develop training programs in active learning and differentiated instruction. Additionally, she has secured research funding from the National Science Foundation for educational projects in collaboration with colleagues from the Texas A&M Graduate and Professional School and the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture.
