Combined Degree Programs for Economics Majors

Combination programs represent two degrees of different academic levels that are pursued and awarded simultaneously. Degrees are completed on an accelerated path involving a coordinated sequence of undergraduate and graduate coursework.

These programs are structured to save both time and money, allowing students to complete both degrees faster than if they were pursued separately. The Department of Economics Combination Programs allows students to finish their bachelor's degree in four years and complete the master's degree in just one extra year due to the "double-counting" of some coursework.

Even though the programs are combined, students must satisfy the required hours of both programs.

Bachelor of Arts or Science in Economics + Master of Science in Economics

The Fastrack Program is offered by the Department of Economics for Economics majors to complete both a BA or BS and MS in Economics in only five years.

Bachelor of Arts or Science in Economics + Master of International Affairs

Economics + Master of International Affairs – The Bush School of Government & Public Service and the Department of Economics offer a 5-year Combined Degree Program that allows Economics majors to enter the Bush School at the start of their senior year at Texas A&M University. This enables students to receive both their economics undergraduate degree (BS/BA) and a Master of International Affairs (MIA) graduate degree, with a track emphasis in international development and economics policy (IDEP), at the end of five years.

Bachelor of Arts or Science in Economics + Master of Public Service & Administration

Economics + Master of Public Service & Administration  – The Bush School of Government & Public Service and the Department of Economics offer a 5-year Combined Degree Program that allows Economics majors to enter the Bush School at the start of their senior year at Texas A&M University.
