David ’81 and Donna ’81 Pierpoline of Houston have established an endowment to support Texas A&M University’s College of Arts & Sciences.
Their gift, named the David ’81 and Donna ’81 Pierpoline Endowed Scholarship, will provide financial support to a sophomore, junior or senior who is studying English or psychology.
The couple, both of whom worked throughout their undergraduate studies, also specified that the scholarship will support Aggies who are Texas residents with demonstrated financial need. Understanding the ongoing challenge of paying for college, the Pierpolines decided to jump-start this scholarship by contributing an additional $1,000 beyond the required $25,000 endowment so that the scholarship could be awarded for the fall 2025 semester, which begins Aug. 25.
The couple is also funding a similar scholarship in the College of Engineering, where David studied mechanical engineering.
Donna earned a bachelor’s degree in English and completed significant coursework in psychology David spent much of his career working in management roles with AMOCO and BP. In 2015, he joined Solomon Associates as a senior consultant for three years before accepting a position in 2018 as Dyno Nobel senior vice president for U.S. Nitrogen Manufacturing.
In addition to his Texas A&M degree, David holds an MBA from the University of Houston and has participated in the executive education program through Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management and School of Engineering.
He also continues to serve on Texas A&M’s Mechanical Engineering Industry Advisory Council, a role he has held since 2010.
Donna, who is active in the Sam Houston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, focused on raising the couple’s two children, Michael Pierpoline ’10 and Jonathan D. Pierpoline ’14. Both sons graduated with bachelor’s degrees in biology and Jonathan went on to earn a master’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M. Both sons work in healthcare.
