Faculty and students in the Department of Oceanography explore the world to investigate the defining questions of the oceans’ future, present, and past. The Department provides exceptional interdisciplinary training in Biological Oceanography, Chemical Oceanography, Geological Oceanography and Physical Oceanography.
The Department of Oceanography places a strong emphasis on graduate and undergraduate research, giving students continuous opportunities to work side-by-side with faculty. Whether on a research vessel in the Pacific Ocean studying hydrothermal vents or in an Oceanography laboratory in College Station, Texas, students at Texas A&M are immersed in high-impact and hands-on research experiences.
