A minor in psychology can be a valuable supplement to education in almost any field. Students select from a variety of courses that enhance their understanding of animal or human behavior, the skills to intervene to change behavior and to create environments that support healthy behavior, and critical thinking skills related to asking and answering questions about human behavior. This knowledge prepares students to pursue a variety of careers where interacting with people is a central job component.
15 hr PSYC Minor:
- 3 hours - PSYC/PBSI 107 Introduction to Psychology
- 3 hours- selected from 200 level or 300/400 level
- 9 hours - Must be selected from 300/400 level at A&M.
- 3hrs may be study abroad (with approval)
- However, the remaining 6hrs must be taken in resident at TAMU
*if previous PSYC major, you can use PSYC/PBSI 301 and/or PSYC/PBSI 302. Please note that 301 and 302 are limited to PSYC majors only.
**Only 3 hrs of PBSI 483, 485, 491 will apply towards the minor.
In addition to PSYC/PBSI 107, students may apply one PSYC course from a junior college toward the minor.

Requirements must be completed before requesting the PSYC minor:
- A&M GPA of a 2.0 or better
- PSYC/PBSI 107 must be completed with a grade 'C' or better

- Must be from your official TAMU email with your UIN and Name
- BS-BCNS, NRSC – BCN, and NRSC – Molecular & Cellular can NOT request a PSYC minor
