Law School
Several chemistry majors have entered law school at:
- UT - Austin
- Baylor University
- UT - Houston
- Marquette University
- University of Illinois
- Franklin Pierce Law Center in New Hampshire
- Thomas Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University
Patent law seems to be a popular area of law for these students.
Medical, Dental, Vet or Pharmacy School
Within the past few years we have had chemistry majors enter practically every medical school (e.g. the UT-system schools, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine) and pharmacy and dental school in Texas as well as some out-of-state programs (Louisiana State University and Vanderbilt University). Several have been accepted into prestigious MD/Ph.D. programs at Baylor College of Medicine, Johns-Hopkins, and Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. Some chemistry majors entered vet school at Texas A&M, University of Missouri and the University of Pennsylvania. Many of our former students are practicing physicians at clinics and hospitals throughout the United States.
Military/Government Careers
Several graduates have entered the Navy's Nuclear Power School as instructors. At least one former student entered the Air Force as a pilot before returning to complete a degree in medicine at A&M and one former student now works with the CIA.
Teaching
