The minor in health humanities provides a critically-engaged, humanities-led approach to understanding health and illness. This minor uses an interdisciplinary approach to understand current and historical issues related to health.
Required courses develop skills of cross-disciplinary health studies in English. Course options include narrative medicine and graphic medicine, literature and medicine and health rhetoric. Elective courses include social science and science courses, and engage ideas such as:
- Ethics and philosophy of care
- Gender and race-based disparities in health
- Cross-cultural health communication
