Each year, the TAMU Department of Geography awards our top undergraduate Geography student the Outstanding Geography Student Award. This prize recognizes outstanding academic success as well as the student’s pursuit of excellence through their efforts outside of the classroom in high-impact learning experiences and student leadership. This award is given up to three times per year, for each spring, summer, and fall graduation, and is open to current undergraduate Geography majors graduating in that term.
Eligibility
Current full-time Texas A&M students, majoring in Geography, and graduating within the current term are eligible to win this award. This award is open to undergraduate students.
Evaluation Criteria
The TAMU Department of Geography Undergraduate Committee will review applicants and application materials, choose a winner, and make the announcement of the winner at the Geosciences Commencement Reception & Awards Ceremony. The following criteria will be used to assess applicants:
- Academic success at TAMU and in the TAMU Department of Geography
- Involvement in High-Impact Learning Experiences
- Involvement in Student Organizations
- Involvement in Student Leadership
