The Texas A&M University Geology and Geophysics Department Advisory Council (GEODAC) provides external vision to help the department build a vibrant community of geology and geophysics students, staff and faculty. In partnership with the department head and the development officer, GEODAC members help:
- Create financial and academic opportunities for students and faculty
- Identify networking, research and job opportunities for career paths
- Support the faculty in the training and teaching of future leaders
These distinguished members make an impactful difference in the lives of young men and women in geology and geophysics, both while they are students at Texas A&M and after they enter their professions.
GEODAC Members
Membership
GEODAC seeks members who have the energy, passion and vested interests to make the Department of Geology and Geophysics a national leader in developing cutting-edge research and attracting, retaining and graduating the best and the brightest students to become the leaders in their profession. We seek members who are recognized leaders in academia, industry, government, professional societies and their communities. We also select on the basis of diversity in industry and experience.
GEODAC meets two times during the year on the Texas A&M campus. Membership terms are for four years and are renewed upon mutual agreement.
We expect our members to make a personal commitment of time and financial support and to help us lead the way in ensuring the department's long-term success, growth, evolution and quality. Members support the core values of the department and of Texas A&M.
