The Department of Statistics has dedicated advisors to help students majoring in Statistics or Bioinformatics. Our advisors can help students understand their degree requirements, plan future coursework, explore possible career or graduate school options, and help connect students with resources within the department and across campus.

Drop-In Advising: Tuesdays from 9:00am-11:30am and 1:30pm-4pm (first-come-first-seen advising available to all TAMU students)

Pocket Pantry: A pocket pantry is housed in BLOC 529 and is open to all students Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. The pocket pantry is unavailable during university holidays or anytime campus is closed. Additional resources for food insecurity can be found on the Student Life Food Resources page.
SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT
For general advising questions, please email stat-advising@tamu.edu. Many questions can be answered quickly through email, so consider emailing before making an appointment if you are unsure.
CURRENT STUDENTS MUST INCLUDE NAME AND UIN IN ALL EMAILS.
If you cannot make your appointment, please cancel your appointment using the Navigate system. Not showing up for a scheduled appointment can lead to being listed as a “no show” and being locked out of the appointment system in the future.
Appointments must be scheduled using the Navigate system. If you cannot find an available appointment time in Navigate, keep checking back because new availability opens each day.
We do not hold advising appointments for STAT minors questions, change of majors, or double majors/double degrees. Students with questions about declaring the Statistics minor, changing majors into Statistics or Bioinformatics, or questions about pursuing a double major/degree in Statistics are encouraged to attend drop in advising on Tuesdays, email advising at stat-advising@tamu.edu, or review our Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
